Permanent installation at Newham Hospital commissioned by Vital Arts
‘What We Wore’ injects joy and colour into a space that is usually clinical and potentially stressful.
Vital Arts invited me to transform the main entrance of Newham Hospital in East London. I ran a series of workshops with staff from the hospital and Year 9 students from nearby Plashet School to draw from fabrics and clothing special to them. The drawings were then developed into a 30 metre long mural, two window vinyls and a series of wall-based sculptures that articulate the space, creating a colourful and abundant installation that reflects the users of the hospital, past, present and future.
